The Lord's Prayer in the New-Zealand tongue

A fine example of an extremely rare early treasure, prepared by Rev. William White, of the Wesleyan Mission, and printed in 1826.
Our copy was kindly donated by Mr E.G. Costin (Bournemouth, England), after a visit to Wellington. It had been found amongst some old papers auctioned with some antiques at Bath about the 1940s. Click the images to view larger versions, including the hand-writing on the back side.

It is held in the Rare Books Room at 226.9, and may be viewed by appointment only. Contact the Maori Customer Specialist, Telephone 801-4122.
